More Background on Services and Delivery

The competitive practices within the game console industry are dominated by a focus on products. For the past three years Blue Buddies have deliberately left the Service and Delivery strategies largely untouched.  Delivery has been fairly traditionally undertaken.  Even though geographic expansion has been widespread, the underlying strategic logic of the Delivery strategy has been competitive benchmarking. 

The only two services which show some differences in approach in the Red Ocean are ‘Online Gaming Experience’ and ‘Quality of Online Support’.  There are some minor differences between competitors in Delivery and Services on other competing factors, but they are small and not perceived as differentiated by customers, let alone noncustomers.
